“French beauty means trying to look natural and effortless, which doesn’t necessarily mean being effortless. There is a lot of effort behind this natural look and all French women know that, but don’t want it to show.”

French women take good care of their skin, as for them skincare represents 80 percent of makeup. For their skin routine there are loads of steps—cleanser, toner, day cream with high SPF, and eye cream— it's usually much less for the makeup: usually it is DD or BB cream on well hydrated and toned skin (French girls love BB or DD cream instead of foundation), eyeliner, and a swipe of red lipstick which is a beloved power move, but shouldn’t look too perfect.

That Parisian 'glow' comes not only from well cared skin, a delicate pop of highlight in the right places, and healthy eating habits, but from truly seeing and being accepting of oneself.

One should not forget: French women use a lot of products in order to look natural.
